Dandelions
On the other hand, when you want to kill grass and plants that just won’t die use a strong salt water solution to kill them off. When you have dandelions in your yard, you can apply salt water directly to that particular spot to kill weeds fast without having to dig it up!
Slugs and worms
If you are being over run by slugs and worms you can kill them by pouring salt over them, or you can simply keep them away from your garden by putting a ring about the exterior of your garden of salt.
BBQ cleaning
You can clean the grease from your barbeque by sprinkling salt over the warmed grill area and then simply dusting the salt away. The salt will absorb the soft grease leaving you with a cleaner and safer grill!
Fires
Being prepared in case of fire is something you should keep in mind when cooking outdoors. Keep a box of salt near by to put out fires that can get out of control.
Soot
You can remove soot from your outdoor fireplace, or your indoor fireplace by throwing a handful of salt into the fire. The bright yellow flames are a result of the salt, and this loosens the soot on the chimney.
Clothes pins
Boil your clothes pins in salt water before using them and you will find that they will last you much longer.
